I need to discover what the source of it was. Something that affected everyone including Servants.

There's an easy answer as to why you didn't.

That'd be petty. The fact is, if it happened directly to you, you'd try to figure out the culprit and out them. As it is, they made the mistake in thinking you wouldn't do the same if it happened to your Servants.

In a normal world, it wouldn't have crossed my mind. In this era where technology is everywhere, I can't help but consider it a possibility.

No, I actually don't think that has anything to do with it. In context, it makes absolutely no sense with everyone else factored in.

This is the sort of thing they discussed at that meeting. About how they can affect others on whim and the technology here. It's why I've spent the past few weeks taking apart the circuitry here so that I could configure the building to operate entirely apart from the rest of the building.

I'll thank you when I understand what that entails. I'm not stupid, just ignorant when it comes to matters like this. Usually Servants are granted everything they need to know when they enter an era but this was an outlier.

You can think of this apartment building as being the master in a set of keys. When the power is limited in this area, it'll all be redirected to this apartment and during a time of crisis, I can lock down the building myself, yet no one else can do a thing here. It's fully removed from the grid, acting on its own and if I can get a generator fully operational, we won't have to rely on their power... or lack of it, which I've heard has happened.

[ Also all of this work is probably another reason she was opposed to moving at first. It's pretty much all she has to show for her time here. ]

Additionally I can cut off this entire building from the rest of the block. It can and will act as an emergency shelter should I need to make it into one.

If it's just a normal generator you need, I could supply that.

If you can set up a generator somewhere in this building that we can pull power from during a crisis... yes, yes! That would be the best thing.

[Hopefully. But hey, he approves of things being more independent. It's an Archer thing.]

But leave that to me. I'll at least find one with a mechanical backup so Saber or I can keep it running manually if we need to.

Being able to make a generator would be the best not just for us, but for others. I was told there was a power outage a while back that left people freezing in the cold.

I'd like to prevent that.

... please don't tell anyone that I have done all of this work. They'll want me to do it for them or they'll turn me in to CERES. It's imperative that CERES remains clueless as to what I can do, Archer.

I won't say what it's for because it's an advantage we need to keep for ourselves. Helping others would only make it easier to get out.

Is that true? It seems strange that CERES would save you and then allow you to fade away shortly after.

There's probably a way for a Servant to exist on their own. Plus you have your Independent Action.
